Woodchip heating plant - the Range Rover of heating systems

Thanks to its hydropower, there was electricity at the Manor even before the city of Hämeenlinna. The Manor's hydropower tradition is now carried on by the new water turbine, installed in 1990.

Jakob Krogius ended up installing a woodchip based heating system because in this respect, the Manor with its 850 hectares of forest is completely self-sufficient. Heating with woodchips promotes good forestry management and is an environmentally friendly heating option. The 500 kW Arimax boiler supplied by Farmenergi Ab, would be sufficient to heat 25 private houses. The super modern woodchip burning boiler house - the Range Rover of heating systems - was installed in the autumn of 2002.

The Manor has always considered self-sufficiency important and the current owner, Jakob Krogius also wants to abide by this same principle. Ruununmylly mill used to grind the flour needed for the Manor?s bread making until the 1960's.
